Earl Lindy Parker, Jr., 66 of Gulfport, passed away December 07, 2022 at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. He was born January 22, 1956 in Gulfport, one of three children to Earl Lindy, Sr. and Mary Naomi (Reyer) Parker. Lindy, as he preferred to be known, grew up in Gulfport and enjoyed tinkering with things. He was mechanically inclined from a young age, and learned quite a bit along the way. He attended Gulfport schools, and joined the US Marine Corp right out of high school. After his discharge, Lindy worked as a mechanic and for a couple of auto parts stores. He decided to get his certification for working with air conditioning, both residential and automotive. He worked at Irby Steel for a while, and in maintenance for the President Casino along the way. He met Violet and they dated for a year before getting married in 1993, and made their home in Gulfport. He is remembered as a great person. Loving, caring, and definitely giving, were just some of the words used to describe him. Lindy became quite the pool player over they years, and was league player for the Tiffin Room for several years. He also enjoyed riding his Harley and continued working on cars through the years. Lindy loved his family, and was always doing things for them. Backyard bonfires every weekend, creating and building go-carts and even mowers, just for the kids to ride, was just some of the things he loved to do. He did his best to keep things fun for the family. Lindy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather that will be greatly missed. He was preceded by his parents, Earl and Mary Parker, Sr., his sister Mary Anderson, and his brother William Parker. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife and soul-mate for the past thirty years, Violet Parker; their children, sons Joseph Parker of Gulfport and Michael (Kimberly) Schonewitz of Saucier, and daughter Crystal (Lee) Saige, also of Gulfport. He leaves a legacy of sixteen grandchildren: Keagan, Ava, and Asia Saige; Tyler (Savannah), Nickolas, and Jordan (Jayce) Schonewitz; Kobie, twins Karolyn and Tommy, and Trista Smith; Kaden and Trevor Craft; and Michael, Wyatt, and twins Colwyn and Corbin Schonewitz; three great-grands: Everleieh, Jessie, and Ryder, along with numerous extended family and friends through the years. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, December 16th, 2:00 PM in the Coalville Cemetery.
