Dwight Allen Hunter, 73 of Satsuma, AL, passed away Tuesday morning at Eva's Place Personal Care Home in Ramsey Springs. He was born March 25, 1946 in Montevallo, AL, the 2nd of 4 children to Fed Allen & Mildred Inez (Bearden) Hunter. "Butch", as he was known by most, grew up in the Mobile area of South Alabama and loved to fish and hunt. In addition to being born a "Hunter", hunting became his primary interest in life. He was successful at it, taking many deer in his time at his camp which he maintained for many years. In recent years, Butch preferred to simply watch them. Butch rescued two injured fawns over the years, nursing them back to health and keeping them in his back yard. Of the two, one grew to be a nicely racked buck, with people passing by his yard just to see the deer. Butch was a simple, down to earth kind of guy that was literally either working or at the hunting camp. He was a hard working, loving husband and father that simply adored his grandkids, teaching them how to hunt and fish as well. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Butch was preceded by his parents, Fed Allen & Mildred Inez Hunter, and his wife, Mary Ann, brother-in-law, Thomas Brock and sister, Sylvia Tillman. Left to cherish his memories are: his daughter, Paige Simmons (Darren Jackson) of Mobile; his grandchildren, Brandy (Jonathon) Blankinchip and Cheyenne Simmons (Harley Vice), with six great-grands; his sisters Charlotte Brock and Chris Hunter, both of Panama City; a nephew Alan Tillman, with numerous extended family, friends and neighbors. Butch's final wishes were to be cremated and his ashes scattered at his hunting camp, where he dearly loved to be. His family is honoring his request, and will hold a memorial at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Hunter family in their time of need, and asks that you keep them lifted up in prayer over the coming days.
