Mr. Drake Allen Swafford

Drake Swafford, 16 of Gulfport, MS, passed away on Monday, April 17th, in Mobile, AL. Drake was born August 17, 2000 in Biloxi, the second of 2 sons to Shelia Swafford Burns. Drake grew up loving the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was an all-around country boy who loved to spend time with his grandparent's, partly because they lived out in Perry county. Along with his brother Randy, the two would love to spend time camping and being outdoors. Drake also loved to work on things, and would often fix things that had been broken for a while, and get it back up and running again. He was an outgoing, fun-loving young man with a brisk sense of humor. He could bring a smile to most anyone's face, and was loved by so many. He will be so sadly missed by all who's life he touched. Drake is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Shelia Burns; his only brother, Randy Swafford and his fiance', Sarah Bracknell; his aunt Shannon Morris and her fiance', Josh Holliman, all of Gulfport; his grandparents, Tony Morris (Gwen Jackson), and Lynn Ford (Daniel), all of Bendale; his great-grandmother, Ruby Lee of Biloxi; cousins Dakota Morris, Toni Harding, Tristain Long, and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather Carlos Lee; and great-grandparents Paul and Frances Crosby, Sr. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22, at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 PM, followed by a chapel service at 4:00 PM with Rev. Randy Mann officiating. Since Drake loved fishing so much, his remains will be cremated, and his ashes scattered at his favorite fishing hole. Trinity is honored to served the Swafford family in their time of need, and asks that you keep them lifted up through this difficult time.
