Douglas “Corey” Brown, 49, who resided in Perkinston, MS but was from Pepin, WI and Pillager, MN, passed away unexpectedly on December 20 due to a chronic illness. Many knew him as Corey. He was born in Sleepy Eye, MN to Dewey Brown and Wendell Harer. He was a talented chef, firefighter, and CNC machinist. He adored time with his family; his one and only daughter, Jenna, was his pride and joy. He was also close with his daughters’ siblings, Melyssa and Christian, both of Minnesota whom he always treated as his own. He had such a soft spot for animals, especially his 3 dogs, Brody, Hazel and Breezy (deceased) and his cat Stimpy (deceased) who were known as his “other” kids. He especially loved being outdoors and enjoyed activities such as camping, fishing, bonfires, and skiing. He was an amazing chef, especially grilling, and loved to make new things. He was a big Vikings fan; he always said his favorite teams were the Vikings and any other team who played the Packers. He had a great sense of humor and found joy in making people laugh. He was one to give the shirt off his back to help someone in need; he would do anything for the ones he loved. He was an amazing, loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by many. May his beautiful soul rest in peace. Corey is preceded by his mother, Wendell Harer and his brother Robby Brown. He is survived by his father, Dewey Londos Brown, daughter Jenna (Anthony) Fadden and her two siblings, Melyssa and Christian; his two brothers David “Buddy” Brown, and Roger “Billy” Brown, and only sister Misty Brown; with his nieces and nephews: Douglas and Roger Brown, Emilie (Kenny) Perez, Christopher Brown, Jesse Brown, and CJ (Brent) Frenette, plus great nieces and nephews: Sebastian, Walker, Sharlotte, Bexley, Brayden, Brielle, Olivia, Opal, Osias, and Ozidian along with Yvonne Brown (stepmother) all of Minnesota. Due to Corey’s love for helping others, his wishes were honored by family to donate his body to science. A memorial service may be held at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Brown family here in south Mississippi during this time and would ask that you remember them in your prayers in the days to come.
