Obituary

Doris Elizabeth Cuevas, of Saucier, Mississippi, passed away on March 18, 2026, at the age of 66. She was born on November 19, 1959, in Odenton, Maryland. Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved her family deeply and made sure they always knew it. She was married to her husband, Michael Cuevas, for 25 years, building a life centered around love, laughter, and togetherness.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Cuevas; her children, Chris Ladner (Alice), Justin Ladner (Charity), Brent King, Jonathan Cuevas (Courtney), Kelli Cuevas (Steven), and Marcia Cuevas; along with 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. She was especially blessed with two amazing granddaughters, Emily and Faith, who shared a unique and deeply special bond with her. During her time of need, they showed a level of devotion, strength, and compassion far beyond their years. They gave their time, energy, and love selflessly, stepping in to help care for her when she needed it most. Through those moments, they learned so much from her—her cooking, her way of keeping a home, and the care she poured into others. Even as young girls, they carried that responsibility with grace, and she was incredibly proud of the young women they are becoming. She is also survived by her siblings: sister Avis Bond (Welsey), sister Grace Jones (Randy), brother Harold Triplett (Jane), and brother Butch Triplett (Renee).

She was preceded in death by Arthur Triplett, Shirley Triplett, Carol Marin, Ricky Triplett, and Lane Ladner.

Doris was a proud member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2539. She found joy in the simple things—playing bingo, creating crafts, decorating for the holidays, and most of all, cooking for her family. Her home was a place where memories were made, traditions were carried on, and everyone was always welcome.

Over the last five years, Doris fought a battle that would have broken most—but not her. She was stronger than most individuals, a true fighter who never gave up. Her strength, resilience, and determination were nothing short of inspiring to everyone who knew and loved her.

She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, and her love will continue to live on through each of them.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to her daughter-in-law, Courtney Cuevas, for her unwavering care, love, and support over the past five years.

Doris will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and the way she held her family together. Her legacy of love and family tradition will continue for generations to come.

Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Cuevas family and ask you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
