Dora Rodriquez Disch, 89 of Saucier, went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon, July 31st, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Dora was born December 30, 1931, one of ten children to Aurelio & Mary Louise Rodriquez. She had a very limited education, leaving school in the 6th grade to work in the agriculture field with her family. Despite that limited education, Dora eventually made a name for herself in the electronics industry. She started in a "ground floor" opportunity, quickly catching on and advancing rapidly due to her work ethic and dedication. She was elevated to inspector, then lead, eventually made supervisor in her area. In her career, Dora was loyal and hard-working, holding top security clearances with companies such as Ford Aerospace, Boeing and Lockheed Martin, which is quite the accomplishment.
Dora was the mother of 6 children: Jacob with her first husband; then Steve, Magdalena and Mary (Louise) with her husband, Juan Poblete; and finally Antonio (Jr.) & Rachel with her husband, Antonio Miller. She loved to travel, with two of her biggest trips being the Holy Land of Israel and London, England. Dora was also fortunate to have traveled and seen some of our beautiful country by car. She loved to drive and was also a huge fan of Disneyland. She shared this love of Disney with her children, grandchildren and eventually her great grandchildren. Most importantly, Dora was a devout Christian woman who never lost her faith, no matter what trials and tribulations life threw at her. The Lord was her rock and her salvation, as she would eagerly let anyone know. While Dora is happily rejoicing in heaven today, free from any illness or pain forever more, she is deeply missed here by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded by her parents, Aurelio and Mary Louise Rodriguez and six of her nine siblings; two daughters, Magdalena and Mary Louise, and her son Jacob. Left to cherish her memories are her children: Steve, Tony (Jr.) & Rachel, along with twelve grandchildren: Brandan, Victoria (Clint), Bradley, Gregory (Zuri), Katherine, Brooke, Timothy, Garrett, Alexandria (Brandin), Adam, Wesley & Taylorann; three GREATGrandchildren: Lukas, Liam & Stryder, together with numerous extended family, friends and neighbors through the years.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 3rd at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by a chapel service at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Larry Darden officiating. Following the service, Dora will be laid to rest in Finley Cemetery off Hwy. 53 near County Farm Road. Please keep the Disch family in your thoughts and prayers during this trying time.
