Donna Sue (Burns) Bennett, 62, of Carriere, MS, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2026, surrounded by her family in Carriere. Donna was born on February 27, 1964, in Minot, North Dakota, to John and Susan (Kerr) Burns.

Donna was a graduate of Picayune Memorial High School and, from there, attended Pearl River Community College, where she received her Associate's Degree.  In the Spring of April 1987, Donna would marry her high school sweetheart, Eric Bennett.  Together, they raised three children and made their home in Carriere, MS.  She began her career at Stennis as a receptionist before going to work for her father-in-law, Dr. Richard Bennett, in 1995, at SEAPROBE, Inc, where she handled the bookkeeping and accounts for the company.  She enjoyed volunteering at a low-cost spay and neuter clinic from 2006 until 2024, where her love for animals only grew.  Donna also spent many years helping at the voting precinct in Henleyfield, MS until 2024.  Donna is known for her love of animals, sewing, arts and crafts, gardening, and spending time with family, especially her grand babies who she loved watching grow up.

Donna is preceded in death by her father, John Burns; her father-in-law, Dr. Richard H. Bennett; her mother in law Roxie Bennett; her grandparents; her horse, Khat; and her two lab mix pups, Duke and Boomer.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of thirty-nine years, Eric Bennett; her children, Katie (Justin) Harding, John Bennett, and Alice (Raymond) Polk; her precious grandchildren, Roxie Polk, Elizabeth Polk, and Ian Bennett; her mother, Susan Burns; her brother, Patrick Burns; and her beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date provided by the family, and will be updated once those arrangements have been set.  In leiu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Magnolia Chapter Humane Society of Louisiana and The Henleyfield-Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department in honor of Mrs. Donna.  Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Bennett family during this time and we ask that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days ahead.
