Donald Elvin Terry

January 21, 1956 — August 19, 2021

Gulfport, MS

Donald Elvin Terry, 65 of Gulfport, passed away August 19, 2021 at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula. The oldest of seven children, Donald was born January 21, 1956, to Elvin and Florine (Fuller) Terry in Brookhaven, MS on their first wedding anniversary.  Growing up, Donald or "Duck" as his family called him, always wanted to be a mechanic like his dad.  The only diffence was Duck could tear it apart, but putting it back together was out of the question.  He was mischevious throughout his whole life and loved playing tricks on anyone he could convince to listen.  During Christmas he and Judy would unwrap presents and get their sister Vicky to retape them so momma wouldn't notice, "Because she could tape it back good".  See he and Judy could get away with anything, so they thought anyway!!  He completed through the 9th grade at Columbia High School and would later recieve his commercial license hauling frieght. Duck considered himself a ladies man and loved to "play the field".  He enjoyed watching Nascar and football anytime there was a game or race on, as well as fishing and riding motorcycles with his sister Judy.  Duck and Judy were two peas in a pod throughout life. Even if it was just to tell her what he had to eat that day, because he loved to eat, he and Judy would talk on the phone everyday no matter what. Donald was preceeded in death by his parents Elvin and Merry Terry, Florine (Fuller) and Joe Brockman; a brother Rusty Dixon; and a sister Darla Blessitt.  He is survived by his sisters, Vicky (Michael) McNease and Annette (Arthur) Harrell both of Columbia, MS, and Judy Sumrall of Hattiesburg, MS; his brother Clifton (Lois) Dixon of Foxworth, MS; his daughter Christina Hollie of Chipley, FL; his grand-daughters Hope Nicole Holmes, Briana Williamson; along with seven great grandchildren and many friends and family who will cherish his memory. Donald's wishes were to be cremated which his family has honored.  A private memorial service will be held at a later time provided by his family. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Terry Family during this difficult time and asks everyone to keep them in your prayers through this trying time.
