Mr. Don Saucier, 73 of Perkinston, went home to be with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday morning, July 4th, 2017. Don was born March 15, 1944 in Waveland, MS, the 6th of 7 children to Stanley and Elouise Saucier. He grew up in the Waveland - Bay St. Louis area, and loved sports, especially football and baseball. He was a member of the Bay High Class of '63, and went to work as a lineman for the power company. Don later applied for and became a police officer for the city of Gulfport, serving for many years. He was a devoted family man who adored children, loved working in the yard, his animals, and taking his family camping. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, a "country boy" that was good with his hands, and an avid Saints fan. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Don is survived by his loving wife, Lynn; step-children Alexis Battaglio (A.J. Cameron), Holly Battaglio; a daughter, Holly L. Peterson; 3 sons, Stanley Peterson (Sparlyn) of Lakeshore, D.J. Saucier and Scotty Saucier, both of Gulfport; several grand and great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, Stanley and Elouise Saucier; his sisters, Pearl Tyner and Diane Saucier; his brothers, Roy and Gus Cuevas, and Lee and Junior Saucier; and nephews Johnny, Ronnie, and Frank Penton. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Saturday, July 8, beginning at 2 PM, at Sunflower Baptist Church where Don was a member, followed by the funeral service at 4 PM. Don's wishes were to be cremated, which his family is following. Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry is honored to assist Lynn and the Saucier family with arrangements, and asks that you keep them in your prayers in this difficult time.
