Mr. Donald S. Dawson

Donald S. Dawson, 85 of Gulfport, passed away Tuesday Sept. 25, 2018 at Gulfport Memorial Hospital. He was an only child born to Clarence and Mildred Dawson in Rhode Island. Donald joined the US Air Force, which brought him to Mississippi in 1957. He graduated from William Carey College 1964 with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Donald was a member of the International Lions Club, loved bowling, gardening, and sold insurance for many years. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, and survived by his spouse Darlene Dawson; their two children, a son Wayne (Cecelia) Dawson, and a daughter, Sheila Schlutz; his step-children, Connie (Kirk) Nelson, Donna (Tommy) Wise, David (Susie) Lewing, and Edward Lewing; Grandkids: Zack Dawson, Hannah Dawson, Emily Dawson, Ashley (Johnathan) Tennyson, Chelesa (Stuart) Smith, Carlea Nelson, Morgan and McKaylyn Dixon, with two great-grands, Faith and Hope Tennyson. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday morning, Sept. 28th at 8:00 AM. He will be interred at Biloxi National Cemetery at 10:00 AM.
