Caledonia

Dennis Ray McDonald, 66 of Caledonia, passed away on January 01, 2022 at at Baptist Medical Center in Columbus. He was born July 05, 1955 in Sioux City, IA, the only child to David Carson and Esther (Lindemann) McDonald. Dennis grew up in several places, including Iowa, Nebraska, Nevada and more. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and has owned one from his teenage years. Dennis graduated high school in Reno, Nevada and joined the US Marine Corps. He served honorably for six years, stationed in San Diego, CA most of that time. After his discharge, Dennis became a commercial driver, hauling freight across the country for many years. He is remembered as a man who thoroughly liked to have fun. He had a large sense of humor and loved to pick and prank you, just to laugh. Dennis loved music, especially that of the era he grew up in. Among his favorite groups were Pink Floyd, the Eagles and many more. He will be forever remembered and sadly missed by all whose life he touched. He was preceded by his parents, David and Esther McDonald. Left to cherish his memories are: his only daughter, Renee (Landell) Norris of Magnolia, MS; his former wife Cheryl Neeley of Park Hill, MO, and his girlfriend, Deborah Kornegay of Caledonia, MS, with his beloved puppy Candy. Dennis leaves a legacy of four grandchildren: Charles and Jacquie Gray, both of San Antonio, TX, Jonah and Ian Norris, both of Magnolia; with three great-grands: Jason, P.J., and Trey Gray, also of San Antonio, TX, along with several extended family and more friends than one could count across the country. His final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. A memorial service is being planned for some time in July 2022. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the McDonald family in their time of need and asks everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
