Denard Caslos Rhodes, 69 of Wiggins, passed away at his home June 4th, surrounded by his loving family Thursday evening. He was born July 26, 1950 in Japan, to the late Bernard and Marie Rhodes. Denard enjoyed cooking growing up. After high school, he joined the US Army as a cook in 1967, serving in and during the Vietnam war. After his discharge, Denard continued doing what he loved, cooking. Most around Wiggins will remember him cooking at Count’s Resturant, where his pancakes would always fill the plate. A Jehovah’s Witness by faith, Denard wasn’t active with a local fellowship. He was a hard-working man, a good cook, but an even better husband, father and granddad. He dearly loved his family, demonstrating that to all of them in his life. He will be fondly remembered and deeply, truly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard & Marie Rhodes. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife of 43 years, Eula Mae (Bradford) Rhodes; their sons: Larry (Zaylee) Bradford, David (Althea) Breland, Denard Rhodes, Jr., Jakiejah (Angie) Rhodes and Andre (Megan) Rhodes, with their daughter, Terry R. Rhodes; his brothers Bernard, Jr. and Andre, with sisters Kathy, Bernadette and Pamela, all of Nevada; a daughter-in-law, Shon Receo Scarbrough; sisters in law: Kathy (Robert) Ramsey, Thelma (Garry) Wallace, Sonya (Tyrone) Maxwell, Tonya Sullivan, Yovonne Bradford, Vernell Milton and Stacey Bradford; brothers in law: Joe, William, Robert and Emmanuel Bradford; twelve grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. The family has set visitation for Friday morning, June 12, 2020 beginning at 9:00 AM at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. A chapel service will begin at 11:00 AM, with interment afterward at Welcome Hill Cemetery in Wiggins. The Rhodes family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the comforting messages and other expressions of kindness shown during our time of bereavement. Special thanks and God Bless you all. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Rhodes family, asking everyone to keep them in your prayers as they walk through this valley.
