Debra Ann Flake, 66, of Gulfport, passed away October 9, 2025, at Pass Oaks Personal Care Home in Pass Christian. She was born January 17, 1959, at Keesler AFB Hospital in Biloxi, MS, one of five children to the late William and Albertine (Edwards) Hamann. Debbie, as she was known to those who truly knew her, grew up in Gulfport. She was more of the indoors type and loved babies and taking care of her baby brother Frankie. Debbie also loved her pets, including two spider monkeys. She opted for marriage and a GED and started her family there in Gulfport. Debbie worked as a waitress at a few places through the years but later managed the Vision Center at Walmart in Gulfport for several years. Debbie is fondly remembered as a very determined woman who loved her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and making costumes and clothes for dance teams and such, blankets, purses, and more. Debbie also enjoyed visiting the casinos to play and dine, but above all, spending time with her grandchildren was definitely at the top of her list. For all she was, she will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends. Debbie was preceded by her parents, Bill and Birdie Hamann; her sister Doris O'Neil and brother, Arlis Hamann, and her late husband, Billy Flake. Left to cherish her memory are, her daughters, Rachel (Jay) Riley of Gulfport, and Kathy (Jeff) Rogers of Wiggins, and her son Billy (Leslie) Flake of Gulfport; her brothers, David (Tanis) Hamann of Wiggins and Frank Hamann of Gulfport; her eight grandchildren, Brandon, Riana, Matthew, Haley, Kaitlin, Jeffrey "Manzo", Kristen, and Isabella; one great-grandson, Layton; and her four legged baby, Peewee. Debbie leaves a legacy of numerous extended family and friends whom she loved and treated as her own. The family would like to personally thank Kim and her staff at Pass Oaks for the exceptional care they provided for Debbie over the last two years, as well as Gentiva Hospice for the care they provided in her final days. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Flake family during this time and ask that remember them in your thoughts and prayers over the days ahead.
