Ms. Deborah Lynn Gravely

Ms. Deborah Lynn (Strickland) Gravely, 65 of Brandon, passed away surrounded by her family early Tuesday morning. Deborah was born March 23, 1953 in Lumberton, the oldest of three children to Kenneth & Sammie (Lee) Strickland, Sr. She grew up in the Jackson area of central MS, and was married at a young age. She lived in a few states over her life, including MS, AL, GA, and FL. Deborah enjoyed sewing and crocheting, along with puzzles and adult coloring books. Her favorite color was blue, which showed in most of her projects. She loved her family, but adored her grandchildren, and riding in her grandson's F150. Deborah attended Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, where her potato salad and deviled eggs were always the first to go. She is remembered as a loving, caring, very forgiving lady and mother, who always put the needs of others above her own. Adored by her siblings, she will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded by her parents, her loving husband of 39 years, Joe Gravely, and her niece, Brandy Strickland. Left to cherish her memories are: her sons, Chris (Stacie) Strickland of Brandon, and Emmitt "Scooter" (Missy) Coker of Lumberton; her sister, Mollie Lee of Brandon, and her brother, Kenneth (Judy) Strickland, Jr. of FL; nine grandchildren: Amanda, Dustin, and Austin Coker, Celsea, Chris Jr., Peyton, and Chloe Strickland, with Logan and Dylan Massey, along with several extended family and numerous friends. Her wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring.
