Mr. David Arnold Sciara

Mr. David Arnold Sciara, 62 of D'iberville, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in McHenry. David was born October 29, 1955 in Monroe, LA, the 3rd of 6 boys to Carlo and Julia Sciara, Sr. From an early age, he loved to hunt squirrel and deer, fish and setting trot lines. David was close to his brothers, and they did most everything together, such as work, having fun, going to church, and many shenanigans, most of which need not be mentioned. They would often build a fire in the field after work, and sit around relaxing. David graduated from Wossman High School in 1973, where he was the "big man" on campus with his '69 SS Chevy Chevelle. After school, David spent some time working with his mother at her truck stop, and farmed with his brothers for almost 20 years. He had an engineering mind, and could build or fix literally anything. David spent 20 years working for Stribling Equipment, where he was known as "Super Dave", as he knew "everything". There was really no arguing or debating with David, as he was most always right. He quipped that "I may not know everything, but I know something about everything.", and he truly did. He taught Sunday School at multiple churches where he attended, had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, and enjoyed travelling. He is remembered as a loving man who was a dependable brother, a stern yet loving father, and Lynn's soul mate and best friend. A determined, courageous, and "simply amazing" man with a vibrant smile, David never allowed his illness to define him, and never once complained. He will be fondly remembered, and sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his father, Carlo Sciara, Sr., who has taken his hand on the other side as the homecoming celebration continues even now. Left to cherish the memories are his loving wife of 22 years, Mary Lynn; children: a son David Jr. (Jeanette Peterson) of CO; daughters Jessica (Ryan) Mayer of Biloxi, Lyndsy (John) Myers of LA, and Brittney (Josh) Jones of NC; his 5 brothers, Carlo Sciara, Jr. of TX, Perry Alan Sciara of KS, Kahylon Lee Sciara of LA, Anthony Sciara of TX and Nazie Sciara; six grandchildren: Kinley, Valencia, Mason, Kate, Alorah, and Ryan, Jr., along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends. The family will recieve friends for visitation on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Funeral Services' McHenry location. A chapel service will begin at 1:00 PM. Following the services, interment will be at Liberty Hill Cemetery in DeKalb, TX on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist the family, and asks that you keep Ms. Lynn and the entire Sciara family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
