Dr. David D. Myers, Jr., 65, went to his heavenly home on January 28th. He was born July 18, 1955 to David and Colleen Myers, Sr. in Kansas. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Reba Myers. Doc, as those dearest knew him, leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Janie Myers; his daughters, LaRena Sweeney, LaQuita Myers and LaNita Myers; his son and daughter in law, David and Kendall Myers III; grandchildren, Jocelyn, Jillian, Brian and Nora; brother and sister-in-law, Isaac and Susan Myers along with extended family and friends from all walks of life. Doc was the baby of three and definitely a mama’s boy! God gave Doc many talents and he used them to glorify God in every way. He was gifted not only in singing like an angel but exhibiting a compassion to others that came naturally. He had the ability to think fast and solve any obstacle life tried to throw his way. Doc’s heart was as big as a mountain. Oh sure, he had faults, but the good outweighed the bad. He may have been over 6’ tall and come off a little intimidating at times but he was deep down just a big teddy bear. Doc and his wife founded a facility for the elderly, Whispering Pine in Picayune. Everyone that enters their threshold becomes family. Doc will live on in the lives of those that had the honor of knowing him. His family may mourn his passing but can take comfort in knowing Doc is at eternal rest. A Visitation will be held Saturday, January 30 at Mitchell Chapel Church of God beginning at 9 am with funeral services at 10 am. Interment will follow at the Humphrey Cemetery. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to assist Doc’s family during this difficult time and asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
