David Ray McCullough, 73, of Lumberton, passed away on December 18, 2022 at Cannon Hospice in Gulfport, MS. David was born March 28, 1949 to Van C. McCullough and Lucille Edwards in Summit MS. As a kid he loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting, hobbies he would keep throughout his life. In November of 1969 David joined the US Army, serving a campaign in Vietnam. For his efforts there he was awarded the Bronze Star to go with his Vietnam Campaign and Service medal. David was honorably discharged in July of 1974 and returned home to South Mississippi. Not long after he would meet Marilyn, his first wife and mother to his children. Living in Summit they would have three children: Jason, Shannon, and Crystal. David would meet Lorriane, his second wife, some years later in New Orleans, Louisiana. Making their home in Kentwood, David made a living as a heavy machine operator. He did many different things, spending most of his time on a bulldozer.
