David Joseph Greenlee, 64, passed away June 11th, 2025 at his home in Perkinston, MS. David was born on June 8, 1960 in Southern Nebraska. Later he was adopted along with his younger sibling, Kevin Loneshadow, in 1968, and a clerical error changed the date of his birth to June 18th. Dave's adoptive parents were not a blessing, but their brother Bill Seaman, Jr. was. Dave was a man known for many things, with quite a few adventures in his lifetime. Life wasn't always the easiest for him, but he sure tried to make the most of it. He was married for a time to Bridget Davidson and they had two children together. His daughter Nicole Greenlee-Jenkins gave him two biological and three bonus grandchildren, David, Alyssa, Jeremiah, Rosie, and Xavier. His son Matthew Greenlee also added two more, plus an additional two bonus grands, Michael, Savannah, Zack, and Ukia. Dave added a third child, Sam, to the mix as well before meeting JoEllen and adding a couple more bonus children, Jerry Vail and Tesia Stenger, with bonus grands Dylan and Brandon. Dave loved his family and taught them that blood doesn't make someone family, rather it is the love you give and receive back that makes people family. Those who love you for just being you, and accept you for who you are...they are family. When Dave came to Mississippi, he found some of the best members of his family. He met Mrs. Clariece Phoenix and finally had someone he called Mom. She loved and cared for him as only a mother could. God must have moved him to MS to find her, and a few others as well, which gave Dave a real family. He had a close relationship with God and walked with the Lord daily. Dave attended church on occasion, but mostly he prayed, studied, and worshipped at home in privacy. He was knowledgeable about the Bible and many more things. No matter what came his way, Dave's faith never wavered. He trusted the Lord completely and shared his faith unapologetically wherever he went. It is said that a legacy isn't material things you have to leave behind, but rather the impact you leave on people's hearts. Dave believed that. He was not a wealthy man by worldly standards, but he was so rich in the love he shared and God's grace. For that reason, the impact he had is far bigger than he could have imagined. He worked hard through his life as a professional welder, owned his own construction business, professional marble maker and installer, and much more. Now he loved his music, and would often be found just jamming away and asking "Who's this?" to whomever walked up, just to see if you knew what or who's music he was playing. Dave loved to enjoy life to the fullest and was always down to have some fun. It goes without saying, but this world just isn;t the same without Dave in it. He was a cherished brother, friend, father, son, uncle, Pop pop, and so much more. He had a strong impact on anyone he ever met and was definitely an unforgettable man who will be greatly missed. Dave was a simple man who didn't need nor want any flashy services. In lieu of any floral arrangements, please consider making a donation to Dave's family to assist in covering final expenses. No donation is too small and all will be greatly appreciated! A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Greenlee family in their time of need and asks everyone to remember them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
