David Campbell, Jr., known to most as D.C., age 72, passed away at Forrest General Hospital on April 27, 2020. He was born to David and Gladys (Saucier) Campbell, Sr. on October 5, 1947 in Purvis, MS. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Suzanne Chambliss Waltman; sisters, Ann Jackson and Sue Cook and sister-in-law, Martha Bishop. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 53 years, Paulette (Neal) Campbell; daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Paul McKean, Sr.; son in law, Bryan Waltman, siblings, Bill Bishop and Jean (Ed) Simmons; brothers-in-law, Bob Jackson and J.L. Cook; grandchildren, Cody, Brittney, Davey and Luke; great-grandchildren, Beau and Sterling along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Although sometimes he could be a bit difficult, D.C. was a simple man. He loved his family endlessly and was the best provider anyone could have asked for. When D.C. wasn’t busy working hard as a rancher on Wilholf Ranch out on Old Hwy 11, he was out hunting and fishing whatever may have crossed his path. D.C. was as tough as they come. He was a determined man and always knew what he wanted. His legacy will forever live on through those that knew him. Graveside will be from 10:30 am to 11 am on May 1 at Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral service at 11am with Pastor Shane Elsie officiating. Every effort will be made to adhere to the current social distancing guidelines and those attending are asked to take proper precautions.
