David Edward Bosarge, Sr.

David Edward Bosarge, Sr., 73 and lifelong resident of Saucier, passed away at his home early Thursday morning. Born September 17, 1947 in Biloxi, David was the oldest of six children to Davienes Edward and Gladys (Saucier) Bosarge. He grew up in the Success community enjoying hunting and fishing. His family had shrimp boats and that got into his blood early on. After high school, David was drafted into the US Army, serving one tour in Vietnam. After his discharge, he was married and made his home there in Success as well. He acquired his own boat and shrimped for a while, before taking a break and operating crew boats. Eventually, he was back to having his own boat dragging nets. David is remembered as an "old school" kind of guy. He loved his kids and family, but he was definitely set in his ways and stuck to them. With lots of pride and respect in him, David lived life his way no matter what. When it was time to relax, he loved having family together, sitting around a pot of boiled shrimp, with a cold Bud Light to go with them. And it was even better if there was some classic country music playing as well. But when it was time to get back to work, that's what David did, expecting the same out of those around him. A loving brother, father and friend, he will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. David was preceded by his parents, "Big David" and Gladys Bosarge, and his brothers Kenneth and Ronald Bosarge. Left to cherish his memories are his fiance, Peggy McFadden; his three children: daughter Angie (Reginald) Andrews of New Orleans, and sons David Jr. (Cindy) Bosarge of McHenry and Shawn Bosarge of Success; his sister Debbie (Glen) Cox of McHenry, with brothers Rooster (Charlotte) and Kelly (Reba) Bosarge, all of Success. David leaves a legacy of thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grands and numerous extended family and friends down through the years. Funeral services are set for Monday, May 24, 2021 at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Visitation begins at 11:00 AM, followed by a chapel service at 1:00 PM, with interment to follow at Success Baptist Church Cemetery.
