Davenies "Rooster" Bosarge Jr, age 67, of Saucier, peacefully passed away at his home in the Success community, on January 6th, 2024. Rooster, as he was lovingly known by all, was born to Davenies & Gladys Bosarge, Sr. on September 23rd,1956, in Biloxi, MS. One thing about Rooster, was he loved to have a good time and he knew a lot of people. There wasn't a day you didn't catch him without a small cup of ice and a cold bud light in hand. Rooster loved to dance with his wife and listen to old country music, and he loved sports, always able to tell you anything you wanted to know. Right before every single MLB season, Rooster called his "baby girl" and had her add the package to his directv account, and then came basketball and of course a package for that, despite his wife dreading basketball, he would record games and rewatch them to ease her suffering, and let's not forget football season, there was a package for that too and he had it as well, with no questions asked. Rooster was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Braves! He was a great pool player as well and a member of the MS Gulf Coast Billiards Association for over twenty years. Rooster could do just about anything when it came to work, until 2010, when he received his first cancer diagnosis, and then life changed as he knew it. His wife and kids never once leaving his side until he took his last breath, just as he would have wanted it. Rooster is preceded in death by his parents, Davenies and Gladys Bosarge, Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Davenies and Lillian Bosarge; his maternal grandparents, Alvin and Nancy Saucier; and three brothers, Kenneth Bosarge, Ronald Bosarge, and David Bosarge. Left to cherish his memories, are his wife of 41 years Charolette Bosarge, whom he loved with his entire heart and soul as she was his best friend and constant companion; his children, Lee (Krystal) Bosarge, his "baby girl" Brittnie (Dan) Pearson; his two boys, Chad and Dustin Bosarge; his sister, Debbie (Glenn) Cox; one brother, Kelly (Reba) Bosarge; and his life long best friend Randy Jones; his grand-dog, as his "baby girl" called him, Thunder, who will miss his papa dearly, and his wife's little Sophie girl, who he allowed on his bed because it made Charolette happy. Rooster leaves a legacy of numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a ton of extended family and friends who will miss him immensely. The family would like to give a special thank you to his care team of hospice staff with Vital Caring & his primary doctors, Drs. Clay Bratton and Joel Burwell who saw Rooster for many years. Pallbearers are Randy Jones, Aubrey Smith, Burt (Burtman), Paul Trotter, Jr., Geremy Denham, and Ray Faulk. Services for Rooster are on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a chapel service at 3. Afterward, Rooster will be laid to rest in the Finley Cemetary.
