Daniel Vashon Cantino, 40, passed away July 28, 2023 at his home in McHenry. He was born August 10, 1982 in Loma Linda, CA, the second of three children to Frank James Cantino and Mary Anna (Bianchi) Porter. He grew up in the D'Iberville area for the most part, a rambunctious young man from the get-go. Daniel enjoyed lots of things, including fishing, swimming, riding motorcycles, baseball, and so much more. He was a people person, one that most called "a character". He attended D'iberville schools and went to work, eventually winding up doing maintenance at a poultry processing plant. When he wasn't working, Daniel enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, hanging out at the river, and was as they say, a definite ladies man. Always the "life of the party", there was always laughter and fun when he was around. Daniel is lovingly remembered as a wonderful son, although a bit of a wild child for the most part, but a loving father, a beloved brother, and true friend to many. He will be forever missed by all whose life he touched. Daniel was preceded by his maternal grandparents, Jim and Faye Bianchi, an uncle Jeremy Adkinson, and his cousins, Andrew Bianchi and Cheryl Lynn White. Left to cherish his memories are: his daughter, Chloee Kruszewski and her mother, Karin Kruszewski; his loving mother and dad, Mary (John) Porter; his father, Frank Cantino; his siblings Johnny (Kristan) Porter, Jr., Vanessa Cantino (Van Taylor), Michael Cantino, Joey Cantino, Christopher Cantino, Aimee Bertucci, and Shonna (Nick) Lindsey; his aunts, Jill Adkinson and Lynn White; nieces and nephews Delaney Danielle Porter, Adiah Cantino, Johnny R. Porter, III, and Anna-Eleseia Porter; his brother-in-law Van Taylor, together with his second family, the Delaney's, and a host of extended family and friends far and wide. Daniel's final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring, with a Celebration of Life in his honor to be planned for a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Cantino in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the days ahead.
