Dalton Lee Johnson

February 8, 1999 — May 20, 2025

Gulfport

Dalton Lee Johnson, 26, of Gulfport, went home to be with Jesus, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in Gulfport, MS. Dalton was born on February 8, 1999, to his parents, Clarence Lee Johnson III and Jennifer (Reeter) Johnson. Dalton was bright, intelligent, and determined to succeed in life. Dalton attended Lizana Elementary, West Wortham Middle School, where he learned to play the trumpet, and West Harrison High School, where his two favorite classes were science and robotics. His hobbies were art, an avid Hot Wheels collector, and he loved to read anything about space and technology. Dalton was a friendly young man and loved to meet new people. He never met a stranger, talking to any and everyone, including the strangers in Wal-Mart at just two years old. His motto was, "It cost absolutely nothing to be nice”. Dalton attended Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Church, where he met new people and made friends with the younger Elders. He enjoyed visiting and studying the bible, and through that they laughed and cut up which always made him happy. He worked in retail and was so determined to save his money so he could fix his mom's car, not because he used it, but because Dalton wanted to give back to her for all the sacrifices she made for him and his brothers. Dalton loved his dad, a great role model who taught him how to work hard and that he could build anything. Dalton looked up to his grandfather or "Dah" as he called him, for his business knowledge and appreciated the places he took him. He always admired his great-grandfather for his bravery and service in the U.S. Military. Dalton loved his entire family and always remarked that he hoped to be like the hardworking men in his family and to be a great dad someday. All who knew Dalton will surely miss the vibrant young man who filled their hearts with so much joy and love. Dalton is now in Heaven with his grandparents, Clarence Lee Johnson Jr. and Judy (Schonewitz) Johnson; his great-grandparents, Jack and Isabell (Hebert) Shonewitz, Robert W. and Shirley (Bolyard) Reeter, John W. and Alberta (Cuevas) Ferguson; his great-uncle, Brian Reeter; his great-aunt, Jo Lynette Reeter; and his purr babies, Slanky, Bubba and Wendy. Dalton leaves behind his parents, Clarence Lee Johnson III and Jennifer (Reeter) Johnson; his three brothers, Wade, Waylon, and Nolan Johnson; one half-sister, Jasmine Stanley; two half-brothers, Dakota and Liam Stanley; his niece, Althea Stanley; his grandparents, David W. and Hilda Reeter, Sr.; two aunts, Connie and Tammy Schonewitz; two uncles, David W. and Nicky Reeter, Jr., and John and Angela Reeter; his cousins, Jaiden, Adrianna, and Jessica Reeter, and Rosco, Cody and Samantha Stewart; his great-uncle, Jerry and Myra Reeter; his great aunt, Kim and Charles Higdon; his great-great aunts, Patricia Abt, Barbara Nichols, and Beryl Ann Cuevas; and his great-great uncle, Jesse.
