Mr. Dale Anthony Belsome, Sr, 78 of Lafitte, LA, passed away Saturday morning in Hattiesburg. Dale was born October 17, 1939 in Orleans Parish, LA, one of two children to Taft and Adeline Belsome. He grew up in, and was a life-long resident of Lafitte, graduating from West Jefferson High School, a member of the Class of 1957. Dale enjoyed the outdoors and being on the water, making his career as a commercial fisherman. He also had an affinity for horses, raising and showing several over the years, and could often be found at the track hanging out with his friends. He was especially fond of bacon and pork chops, along with most good home cooking. He will be remembered as a hard working man, a loving and dedicated father and grandfather, and had spent the past several months in Poplarville, MS. He will be sadly missed by all whose life he touched. He is survived by his three children, Dena (Kirby) Nunez of Lafitte, Allyson (Francis) Loughran of Naperville, IL, and Dale (Samantha) Belsome, Jr. of Lumberton; 8 grandchildren, Chastity, Laci, Kirby, Zachary, Olivia, Jenna, Jordan, and Hayden; and 4 great grands, Dallas, Peyton, Casyn, and Kenzie; one nephew, Durel Boudlauch; and his former wife, Carolyn LeBlanc. Dale was preceded by his parents, Taft and Adeline Belsome; his only sister, Gwen Boudlauch; and one nephew, Lance Boudlauch. Mr. Dale will be transferred to West Side / Leitz-Egan Funeral Home in Marrero, LA, where service arrangements will be finalized.
