Cynthia Lynn (Stroh) Ladner

June 5, 1954 — January 22, 2024

Gulfport

Cynthia Lynn Ladner, 69 of Gulfport, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2024, at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA. Cynthia, or Cindy as she was lovingly known, was born in Mobile, Alabama to her parents, Albert and Dora (Howell) Stroh, on June 5, 1954.  After graduating high school, Cindy went to work for the United States Postal Service before later going to work for Coastal Farm Supply, where she was the manager for many years. Cindy was a simple woman who lived a modest lifestyle in her Levis blue jeans, either dressed up or down, depending on the occasion. Very few things got Cindy in a dress and being that she hated having her picture taken, there is probably no physical proof, only a sweet memory. Cindy loved to camp and go catfishing; she loved traditions and even more so she loved to cook and have her family together. Cindy loved what Larry loved and together they watched football, both college and NFL, NASCAR, and even attended many races! She loved to travel with Larry when life allowed, and she was able to get away. Very sweet and loving, but also very blunt, Cindy was going to let you know exactly what she was thinking and how she felt about it! Cindy's family was her world and she loved each of her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Cindy will be remembered for so many things but her kindness and love that she always gave, will stand out the most by all who knew and loved her. Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Dora (Howell) Stroh. Left to cherish her memory, are her husband, Larry, of 46 years; her aunt, Aline Brady, who watched out for her and was always there for her after losing her mother at a young age); her children, Larry Ladner, Jr., Mitzi (Scotty) Hoda, and Chris (Desireah) Ladner; her grandchildren, Joy Hoda, Brennan (Bailey) Hoda, Justin Hoda, Bianca Ladner, DJay (Miranda) Ladner, Candis (Blake) Ladner, Dylan Ladner, Madison Ladner, Ethan Ladner, Ava Hoda, and Gage Ladner. Cindy leaves a legacy of 14 great-grandchildren as well as numerous extended family and friends. Services for Cindy will be held Monday, January 29, 2024, at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry beginning with a public visitation at 10:30 followed by a funeral service at noon. Cindy will be interred at Wolf River Cemetery directly following her service.
