Curtis Matthew Fincher, 52, passed away on April 30, 2026 in Gulfport, MS. He was born on March 10, 1974 to Melfred DeWayne Fincher and Alice Louise Fincher. Curtis married his loving wife of 26 years, Shalon Bennett Fincher on May 29, 1999.

Curtis Matthew Fincher passed away far too soon, leaving behind a life that was as full as it was meaningful. Curtis was a Godly man with a big heart and an even bigger presence—comical, generous, and always ready to lend a hand. He would do anything for anyone, never hesitating to help those in need, and he gave of himself freely with love and sincerity. His biggest treasures in life were his princess wife, Shalon, and his boys, Jaiden and Bricen.

Curtis truly lived life his way. He loved the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and chasing turkeys brought him peace, but nothing meant more to him than sharing those moments with his children. Whether it was fishing trips, hunting days, or taking the kids crabbing, those memories were treasures he held close. His family was his world—his wife and sons were everything to him, and he loved them more than words can express.

Known for his great sense of humor, Curtis could light up any room. He may not have liked to smile for pictures, but he loved to laugh and enjoy life. He found joy in the simple things—watching his cartoons, sipping on his strong black coffee (just the way he liked it, and don’t mess with it), and even taking time to inspect coins, always on the lookout for rare and older pieces.

Curtis was also a master of the grill, known by many as the “grill master” of the Fincher family. From red snapper and brisket to steaks that were second to none, he brought people together through his cooking. At family gatherings, he was the heart behind the boil pot, a true seafood cook whose meals will never be forgotten.

He loved visiting the mountains, especially those adventurous jeep trips with the most amazing family and friends, cherished every moment outdoors, and lived a life rooted in love, laughter, and family. Curtis Matthew Fincher will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the love he gave will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Preceded in death by his most adored niece, Gabi Fincher; his loving grandparents; niece, Kayla Dearman; nephew, Tristen Bennett; and his beloved dogs, Guner and Alex.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shalon Fincher; his children, Jaiden (Emma) Fincher and Bricen Fincher; his parents; Melfred and Alice Fincher; his siblings, Tracy (Kathy) Fincher, Bridgett (Lance) Ratcliff, and Shelly (Pat) Odo; his favorite in-laws, Chad (Seandee) Bennett, Jeremy (Melissa) Bennett, and Neil (Amanda) Ladner; his maw-in-law and paw-in-law, Johnny (Jean) Bennett; his godchildren, Dylan Peterson and Piper Ladner; numerous loved nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; his dog, Duke, and grand dog, Drake; and even the many turkeys he so loved to chase.
