Colton Lynn Northrup

July 12, 2000 — December 25, 2020

Gulfport, MS

On Christmas morning, Colton Lynn “Otis” Northrup, was welcomed into heaven to receive his angel wings. He was born July 12, 2000 in Gulfport, MS to Travis and Jennifer Northrup. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John “Danny” Williams and paternal grandmother, Margaret Ann Northrup. Otis leaves behind to cherish his many memories, his parents, Travis and Jennifer Northrup; his brother, Skylar; sister and brother-in-law, Cortney and Brent; sister, Jaylen; two daughters, Haven Leighann and Maggie Alyse; the love of his life, Britne; his best friend, his bubba, J. Lee Northrup Jr; only nephew, Olen Reid; maternal grandmother, Barbara Alice Williams; paternal grandfather, J. Lee Northrup; along with extended family and friends from all walks of life. Otis was what most would call a “Good Ole Country Boy”. He liked dog hunting, fishing, spending time on the river with his family and whatever he was doing, let’s just say it was outlawing. He was a friend like no other. He had a way of making people around him feel special. His smile could warm the coldest of hearts and his laughter was infectious. Otis had never ending jokes and if you ever thought you could get one over on him, think again. He would always one up you!!! Otis proudly served in the United States Army National Guard. He believed in our country’s right to freedom and wanted to make the world a better place for his daughters. Otis was taken far too soon but they say the good die young. And man, oh man, was Otis ever good. He will be forever remembered, always loved, and never forgotten. Fly High, our friend, Fly High. Visitation services will be held Saturday, January 2 at Trinity Funeral Services in McHenry from 11 am to 1 pm. Chapel services will be officiated by Father Michael Marascalco at 1 pm with interment to follow at Wolfe River Cemetery. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to be entrusted with the care of Otis and asks that you keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.

“Time is like a river; you can’t touch the same water twice because the flow that has passed will never pass again. So, enjoy every moment of life and make the best of it.”
