Clarence Mitchell Cabaniss

August 16, 1963 — December 6, 2022

Wiggins

Clarence Mitchell Cabaniss, 59, of Wiggins, passed away December 6, 2022, surrounded by family in the comfort of his home. Clarence was born on August 16, 1963, in Cleveland, MS, the fourth of five children to Ray and Jeanette (Green) Cabaniss. He grew up in the Cleveland area where he enjoyed fishing, playing sports, and being outdoors. He attended Cleveland schools before meeting Kay and deciding to get married. The young couple made their home in Indianola and had one child together. Tragically, Kay was fatally injured in a vehicle accident in Chicago, IL. and Mit moved to South MS shortly afterward. He worked on shrimp boats for a while, later working as a detailer for Preston Hood Chevrolet for several years. Mit spent the last few years of his career working at Dirt, Inc. He is remembered as a fun-loving guy that could do most anything. A jack of all trades but master of none, Mit did love to argue and fuss about everything, just for the fun of doing it. In his free time, he enjoyed his old western movies, and he never missed wrestling. A loving brother and friend to many, he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, Ray Cabaniss and Jeanette Gully, his youngest brother Daniel Cabaniss, and his wife Kay. Left to cherish his memories are: his son Clarence "Little Mit" Cabaniss of Gulfport; sisters Linda Carson of Wiggins, Frances (Marshall) Hopper of Minter City, MS, and brothers Paul (Thelma) Jones of Cleveland and Eddie Cabaniss of South MS. He also leaves his best friend, William Eaton, also of Wiggins, with numerous extended family members, including and friends all over. Mit's final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring, with a celebration of his life to be held at a later date. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Cabaniss family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
