Claire Ann Dennis

Claire Ann Dennis, age 93, passed away on July 01, 2025 in Jackson Mississippi. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 11, 1932 to the late Alcade Stubbs and Catherine McGinley Stubbs.

Claire moved to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi in 1976. In 1979, she met the love of her life, Chuck Gatti Tippit and together they shared a beautiful life until her passing.

Claire Ann Dennis was a one-of-a-kind woman—fiery, fun, and full of love. She lived life on her own terms, never backed down, and never failed to bring laughter and warmth wherever she went. If you knew Claire, you knew the life of the party had just walked in.

She was a proud Louisiana soul who loved New Orleans, Mardi Gras, good food, and even better company. A fantastic cook and generous host, Claire made every family gathering feel like a celebration. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, filled with the smells of southern cooking and the sound of joy.

Family meant everything to her, and she had a heart big enough to care for anyone, especially animals. She rescued and cared for any creature in need and her family always said she should’ve been a vet.

Claire was smart, kind, musically gifted, and fiercely independent. She loved fishing, crabbing, and walking the swamp to catch crawfish barefoot—never afraid to get her hands dirty for a good time. She was bold, brilliant, and unforgettable. Claire Ann Dennis lived fully, loved deeply, and leaves behind memories as bright and lasting as her spirit.

Claire is preceded in death by her loving son, Ralph Dennis; mother and father, Alcade Michael Stubbs and Catherine Stubbs; brothers, Alcade Stubbs Jr., Harold Stubbs and Charles Stubbs and one grandson, Bradley Keating. Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 45 years, Charles Gatti Tippit; children, Diane Keating (Jay) Fountain, and Frank (Doris) Keating. Also left to cherish her memories are 3 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
