Christopher Labella

February 11, 1967 — December 2, 2022

Biloxi

Christopher LaBella, 55 of Biloxi, passed away on December 02, 2022. He was born February 11, 1967 in Brooklyn, NY, the baby of five children to Peter Louis and Jane Grace (Hayes) LaBella. He grew up in Brooklyn where he enjoyed baseball, photography, and music. Chris as he was known by most, learned to play the piano and saxophone. He attended New Eutrecht in Brooklyn, graduating with the Class of 1985. After high school, he worked with his brother Ken doing marble and granite countertops for a while, before deciding it was time to head South. Chris moved to Florida, working as a bellman in the San Destin area for a time, and later relocated to South Mississippi, where he has been since 2005. Chris went to work for the Beau Rivage shortly before Hurricane Katrina, and wound up working at Fallen Oaks for the past several years. He is remembered as just a great guy. Chris was outgoing, friendly, and honestly never met a stranger. He dabbled in real estate here and there, and was an avid sports fan, with the Mets, Jets, and Rangers at the top of his list. Family was so important to him and he kept in touch with all of them. In his spare time, he loved to travel, play the piano, and play golf whenever he could. A personable guy who could talk to anyone, he will definitely be missed by all whose life he touched. Chris was preceded by his parents, Peter and Jane LaBella, and the love of his life and spiritual wife, Linda Laethem. Left to cherish his memories are: his siblings, Kenneth (Donna) LaBella of Barnegt, NJ, Greg (Nancy) LaBella of Killington, VT, Patricia McGuire of Brooklyn, NY, and Donna LaBella of Manhattan; his step sons, whom he loved as his own: Clint (Rachel) Laethem of Princeton, IL, and Adam (Carrie) Laethem of Prophetstown, IL. He leaves a legacy of two granddaughters: Ella and Evelyn Laethem, along with countless extended family and friends from New York to South Mississippi. Chris' final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. A Celebration of His Life is set for Saturday, Dec. 10th, at his home on North River Vue Circle from noon until 5:00 PM. All who knew and loved Chris are encouraged to come. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Laethem family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers through the trying days ahead.
