Cheryl Ann Ross, 78, of Lumberton, MS., entered her heavenly rest on July 4, 2026, in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born on September 24, 1947, in Biloxi, MS, to her parents, Esse and Willie Mae (Toups) Foreman.  Cheryl was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and beloved “Maw Maw” to so many, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.  As a proud native of Point Cadet in Biloxi, Mississippi, she carried her roots close to her heart throughout her life.  Cheryl was the true definition of a caregiver. She never met a stranger, and her home was always filled with children from the neighborhood whom she loved and cared for as her own. She found her greatest joy in being a homemaker—cooking, nurturing, and surrounding herself with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Cheryl's family was her proudest achievement and the center of her world.  Cheryl was known for her feisty spirit, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. A natural jokester, Cheryl loved to play pranks on her husband, grandchildren, and anyone lucky enough to be around her. She enjoyed karaoke, never held back her thoughts, and always stood firm on her beliefs. Fearless and fiercely protective, she would do anything to care for those she loved.  Cheryl had a deep passion for writing, especially children’s stories and poems, and she shared her love of faith by teaching catechism to children at church. She was a Godly woman whose kindness and strength touched countless lives. Cheryl shared fifty-seven beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Frank Ross, whom she married at the age of 18, a true love story that stood as a testament of devotion and partnership.  Cheryl was truly one of a kind—a fearless, loving, and faithful woman who gave everything she had to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.  Cheryl is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Frank Ross; her daughter, Angela Marie Trosclair; her parents, Esse Foreman and Willie Mae Foreman; and three brothers, Troy Foreman, David Foreman, and Mike Foreman.  Left to cherish her devotion, are her children, Sherri (Shawn) Wise, Frank (Brandy) Ross Jr., and Jeffrey (Jolisa) Ross; her siblings, Russell (Patty) Foreman, Elizabeth (Hal) Forsberg, and Vickie (Randy) Vandawalker.  Cheryl leaves a legacy of fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many beloved children she helped raise who will forever carry her love in their hearts.  Services for Cheryl will be Friday, July 17, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Poplarville, beginning at 12:15 pm.  The family invites everyone to join them for a reception directly following the service in the fellowship hall at the church.  Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Ross family, and we ask that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days ahead.
