Mrs. Charlotte Powell, 64 of Brandon, passed away Dec. 6th at the VA Medical Center in Jackson. She was born January 11, 1954, one of two children to Joseph & Inge Thibodeaux. After graduating high school, she served honorably in the US Army, including overseas duty in Europe, where she met the love of her life, and eventual husband for 39 years, Steven. After their military careers, they settled in Brandon, and Charlotte made a career as a graphic artist. She worked for newspapers where she won several awards for her work. She was an outgoing and outspoken woman who was loved by all who knew her, especially her beloved husband. She was "the love of my life, my best friend and soul-mate, and I cherished every moment together" he says. Charlotte was a true fighter, and fough back cancer on several occasions. A truly loving person, she will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all whose life she touched. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving husband, Steven Powell; her parents, Joseph & Inge Thibodeaux; her only brother, Eric (Kathy) Thibodeaux, along with numerous friends and co-workers. Charlotte loved animals, and leaves her fur babies, two dachshunds Emma and Gromit, and an 18 yr old Yorkie, Molly.
