Charlotte Elizabeth Cowart passed away on June 15, 2024, at her home in Wiggins, MS. Born on July 17, 1963, in Hattiesburg, MS. Her love for life was infectious and her hobbies were as vibrant as her personality. She could be found belting it out at karaoke nights, swaying gently to the rhythm of slow dances, tending to her beloved garden, or immersed in her crafts. Her passion for horses and the companionship of her cherished dog, Panda, brought her so much joy. Charlotte worked many years at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston. A breast cancer survivor, she faced challenges with grace and never allowed the situation to dim her light. She was raised in the Baptist faith, which gave her courage and strength to make it through life. Known for her ability to make friends with anyone she met, Charlotte's legacy is one of strong friendships and love. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is preceded by her parents, Jimmy and Carol Slade; brother, Randy Slade. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Eugene Hughes; daughter, Kasey (Matthew) Fiorella; grandchildren, Tyler Fiorella, Coti Fiorella, Cameron Fiorella, and Bash Fiorella; daughter, Natasha Hughes-Koch; siblings, Lance Slade and Kelly Nall.
