Mr. Charles Albert Weaver Jr

Mr. Charles Albert Weaver, Jr., 76 of Gulfport, passed away Friday evening, March 8th. He was born June 21, 1942 in Columbia, SC to his parents, Dr. Charles Albert Weaver and Jim Hoye Hegwood. Charlie loved baseball, and played at Gulfport High where he graduated in May 1960. He excelled as a pitcher, and received a four-year scholarship to Tulane University, graduating in June 1965. After college, he returned to Gulfport, MS where he began an insurance career with The Travelers Insurance Co. Along with his former wife Babs and mother to their children, he is survived by three sons: Charles A. Weaver III (Tri), William "Trent" Weaver and wife Ilsa, and Casey Chandler Weaver and his wife Wendy; two brothers, Jim H. Weaver and wife Meb of Diamondhead, and Walter Weaver of Dothan, AL; his grandchildren: Jacob Pucheu, Taryn Weaver, Taylor Weaver, Trent Weaver Jr, Tatum Weaver, Cade Lee and Payton Lee. He is also survived by his nephew, Brian Weaver, Niece Shelli Weaver Smith, Sister-n-Law Debbie Weaver and nephew Gabe Weaver. Charlie was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Richard G. Weaver. The family is so thankful for the life he lived, and praise God for many wonderful memories! His final wishes were to be cremated, which they are honoring, and will set a memorial celebration at a later date.
