Charlene Gulledge was born on August 13, 1958, in Albany, GA. Charlene was the daughter of Floyd Eddison Allen and Mary Emily Kimble Allen. That little redheaded girl would grow up to be a blessing to all who knew her, lovingly known as “Red” “Charlie” and “CC”.

Charlene lost a child to a miscarriage, and she was never able to conceive again. However, she spent her entire life being a mother figure to so many. Charlene helped raise her younger siblings and some of her many nieces and nephews. She was a caretaker by nature who willingly helped take care of her parents, family, and even friends during sickness and hard times.  Charlene was loved and adored by not only her family but also her co-workers at Stuffed Shirt Garment Factory and IHOP. 

Charlene never forgot a special date, name, or number. She could recite every address and phone number the family ever had, and being the daughter of a Marine, well, there were quite a few. She was an avid reader, her favorite author being Louis L’amour, who took her on many adventures through the pages. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Tennessee, where lifelong memories were always made during family trips to places like Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN, where everyone would enjoy the mountain scenery on horseback.

Charlene was called away from this life on September 2, 2026, where she was welcomed into the loving arms of her parents, Mary “Emily” and Floyd Allen; one sister, Sharon Christine Rector; three brothers, Robert Atchley, Sr., James E. Allen, and Kenneth “Little Kenny” Allen, her late husband, Jackie Wayne Cuevas; and one sister-in-law, Rachel “Lynn Allen.

Charlene will continue to be loved and cherished by her husband and best friend, Ronald “Ronnie” Gulledge, who did everything possible to keep a smile on her face and a glass of sweet tea in her hand! Also, left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Becky Rule, George (Debbie Pujol) Allen, Debbie Allen (Chris) Spiers, Raymond Dell Allen, and Christie Allen; as well as so many adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
