Ms. Carla Brumfield, 61 of Perkinston, passed away Thursday evening at her residence. Carla was born June 5th, 1956 in Poplarville, one of 6 children to James Sr. and Jewel Smith. She grew up in Poplarville, graduating from Poplarville High School, and attended PRCC. Carla was a security guard for many years at Cooper in Lumberton. She was a homemaker that enjoyed interacting with people, especially children and seniors, whom she spent time working with as well. Among her hobbies was crocheting and sewing, as well as travelling. She will be sadly missed by all who's life she touched. She is survived by her four children, daughters Candy Westbrook, Chassity Smith, and Amanda Myers, and her son, Ty Brumfield; her companion, Jessie Lester; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded by her father, James Smith, Sr. a former JP judge and sheriff of Pearl River County, and her mother, Jewel McCoy Smith.
