Mr. Calvin Eugene Knight Sr

Mr. Calvin Eugene Knight, Sr., 59 of Lumberton and known by those who knew and loved him as "Bear", passed away on Thursday at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Calvin was born on New Years Day of 1957 in Bogalusa, LA., to Malcomb and Helen Knight. He became a mechanic by trade, and made is home in the Baxterville community. Calvin enjoyed the outdoors, and loved to fish, but he was particularly fond of classic cars, and doing engine work on them. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Calvin is survived by his son, Calvin "Gene" Knight, Jr. (Danica) of Lumberton, one sister, Linda Knight Martin of Lumberton, brothers, Dennis Knight (Sue) of Albany, LA, Willis Knight (Marilynn) and Kenneth Knight (Stephanie), both of Poplarville, and Jerry Knight (Vickie) of Picayune; 3 grandchildren, Bryce, Landon, and Nicolas Knight; his former wife, Peggy Harvey of Lumberton, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Helen (Magee) Knight, and 2 brothers, Lavelle and Ralph Knight. Arrangements are still being finalized, and a memorial service is set for 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon at Baxterville Baptist Church, with Rev. Ronald Alexander officiating. Trinity Funeral Services' Lumberton branch is honored to serve the Knight family in their time of need.
