Buford Edward "Eddie" Davis

September 25, 1951 — December 30, 2022

Gulfport

Buford Edward Davis, 71, passed away December 30th, 2022 at his home in Gulfport, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 25th, 1951 in Pecos, TX, the fourth of five children to his late parents, Edward Davis and Ann (Champus) Sumrall. The family moved to South MS a couple of years later, so he grew up mostly in Gulfport. Eddie came to love horses, going to and participating in many horse shows through the years. He attended Gulfport schools, opting to get his GED and join the US Army. Eddie served three years, and after his honorable discharge, began his career as a mechanic. Through the years he has worked at a couple of dealerships on the coast, and had his own shop for a while. He is lovingly remembered as a family oriented guy that loved his kids, but adored his grandchildren. Eddie loved to dance as well, spending lots of time on the dance floor with his wife, until Hurricane Katrina came along and took away most of their favorite places to dance. He enjoyed relaxing at home, being with his family and grandkids. When they weren't around, Eddie was watching his old western shows and movies, but his favorite was Star Wars. Though he has seen them all, the original three he has watched a few times, to say the least. Eddie was a fun loving guy that enjoyed a good laugh as much as anyone. A loving husband who took good care of his wife and family, he will definitely be missed by all whose life he touched. Eddie was preceded by his father Edward Davis, and his mother Ann Sumrall; one brother, Don Davis and a brother-in-law, Huey Landry. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving wife of over twenty-six years, Judy; their children: one daughter, Sharon (Donovan) Treadway of Carriere, and four sons: Timmy (Ginger) Murray of Walnut Cove, NC, with Kris , Kevin, and Kendal Davis, all of Gulfport; two sisters: Olivia Landry of Gulfport, and Sue Davis of Saucier, and brothers Jimmy (Myrtis) Davis of Theodore, AL and Johnny Wells of Abilene, TX. Eddie leaves a legacy of six grandchildren: Stormy Boggs, Kathleen Murray, Briana Murray, Destiny Murray, Damon Murray, Jamie Davis, three great-grands, and a host of extended family, friends, and neighbors through the years. Eddie's final wishes were to be cremated, which his family is honoring. A Celebration of Life is set for Saturday, January 7th at the Davis home, beginning at 2:00 PM. All that knew and loved him are encouraged to come celebrate with the family. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Davis family in their time of need and asks that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers in this difficult time.
