Mr. Bruce Lane Roden

Mr. Bruce Lane Roden, 66 of Gulfport, passed away pacefully Wednesday morning. Lane was next-to-last, and the youngest boy of the six children born to Hillie A. and Mattie L. (Cameron) Roden. He was born August 11, 1952 in Northern AL, growing up in the Decatur area. He was a highly intelligent man that worked as an electrical technician for Fluor Daniels. He could also repair televisions back in the day, and owned a couple of repair shops. Lane enjoyed the outdoors, especially boating and fishing, camping, and travelling, recently checking Venice Beach, CA off his bucket list. He is remembered as a caring, loving partner and provider. A man that had obstacles in life, but eventually overcame them, he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded by his parents, Hillie & Mattie Roden; brothers O'Neil and Gene, and one sister. Left to cherish his memories are: his loving companion for the past 12 years, Rita Fisher; his children, daughter Misty Roden, and sons Bruce Jr., Christopher, and Dusty (Christy) Roden; three sisters, Carol, Kathy, and Barbara, along with five grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and countless friends. A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019, 10:30 AM at Finley Cemetery in Gulfport.
