“Children are a heritage from God” Deuteronomy 28:4
Brandon Gerald Wascom was a blessed gift born on March 11, 1980 to Haynes and Daren (Swilley) Wascom, Jr. He was not just their son, but the glue that held so much together.
As a child, he was always seen smiling. He liked adventure and loved being on the water with a fishing pole in hand. As he had gotten older his favorite fishing partners were his two nephews, Mason and Trace.
He would often take Torry, his niece, riding around and listening to music. He thoroughly enjoyed the times he was able to spend with just the two of them as they figured out life together on the road. Music always had meaning to him and he loved that she shared that quality.
Brandon was always a quiet observer. Any amount of pain or hurt he felt was put aside to lend an ear to someone in need. He would give advice, a shoulder to cry on, or even the shirt off his back if it helped someone.Through listening and having a heart for others, he touched more lives than most. He loved without limits- his family, God, and people in general. He did it without judgement or concern for himself, always a selfless giver.
He wanted to learn and loved gaining wisdom from his elders. Even into his recent adult years, he was taking college courses to grow his mind and his profession. He enjoyed a career in the oil field as a young adult and took pride in his work. Moving into construction was easy for him. He enjoyed a good challenge and wanted to master his craft.
Most recently, he worked as a technician and mechanic for an underground wiring company and was grateful for the opportunity and the accomplishments he achieved.
Being a simple man was his ultimate goal. He accomplished so much in his short life, he was simply the best to so many who truly knew and loved him. He may be gone but will never be forgotten.
