Brandon Alan
Ferguson
Jan 15, 1985 — Jun 29, 2026
Brandon Alan Ferguson—known to many as “Fergie”—was born on January 15, 1985, in Gulfport, Mississippi, and bid farewell to this world on June 29, 2026, in the same city that cradled his earliest moments and memories. From beginning to end, Gulfport was the setting of Brandon’s singular story—a life marked by sincerity, warmth, laughter, and a tapestry of moments stitched with the light of those he loved most.
Brandon’s early years bloomed along the Gulf Coast, where he walked the sandy shores, basked in sunsets at Flint Creek, and discovered a passion for the outdoors that would be his quiet refuge all his days. Nature’s call led him to peaceful walks and countless fishing trips, while afternoons became celebrations of friendship and family, grilling or cooking meals whose aromas beckoned everyone home. Brandon was drawn to the kitchen not only by talent but by joy. His creativity flourished at culinary school, nurturing his gifts into a means of bringing people together. His food was legendary among those who knew him—not just for its flavor but for the laughter and companionship it inspired. “Either you’re a Saint or you ain’t”, was his famous line that he was known to say regarding his beloved football team, The New Orleans Saints. Brandon loved watching Saints football and rooted them on from wherever he was.
Brandon was a proud graduate of Harrison Central High School, where he distinguished himself by graduating at the top of his class in 2003. His passion for music shone brightly as a dedicated member of the school’s celebrated band, the Pride of the Coast, where he skillfully played the trombone, fostering friendships and memories that would shape his life. His playful spirit was evident in the silly songs he made up and sang around the house—a soundtrack for a home filled with love, mischief, and tenderness.
His heart opened boundlessly to animals, especially the dogs he rescued, whose loyalty mirrored Brandon’s own. Brandon’s legacy is not just in memories shared, but in the simple joys cultivated daily: a sunrise at the shore, the irreverent delight of a made-up song, a meal cooked with care. His love was a gift freely given, and it lives on—in grateful laughter, in the wag of a dog’s tail, in the briny Gulf breeze. Family was the cornerstone of Brandon’s world. He shared a close bond with his sister, Jennifer, and was a loving and dedicated “Bubba” to all of his nieces and nephews. His love for his family was ever-present, and he brought joy and humor to every gathering.
Brandon is preceded in death by his father, Todd Ferguson; his maternal grandparents, Lucian "Jack" Allen and Loretta Allen; and his paternal grandfather, Carl E. Ferguson.
Left to cherish Brandon's life are his parents, Darrell and Julia "Julie" Scott, Sr.; three sisters, Jennifer (Billy) Palmisano, Tamara Scott, and Rebecca Scott; one brother, Darrell (Faye) Scott, Jr.; and his paternal grandmother, Hannah Ferguson. Brandon leaves a legacy of numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Brandon will be remembered for his warm heart, his love of family, his culinary talents, and his unwavering appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, compassion, and fond memories that will be held close by all who knew him. Services for Brandon will be available at a later date, provided by his family. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Ferguson family during this time, and we ask that you remember them in your thoughts and prayers, over the coming days.
