Brandi Rochelle Lott, 49 of Ovett, passed away December 3rd at South Central RMC in Laurel following a lengthy illness. She was born December 10, 1972, the daughter and only child of Donnie Lloyd and Rebecca (Gosa) Avery. Brandi grew up in Hamilton, AL and being an only child, was pretty much spoiled as a little girl. She loved spending time with her "Mawmaws", Bernice Avery and Edna Gosa. As you might imagine, it was a fierce but loving competition between them over their grandbaby, with Brandi benefitting in many ways! When she wasn't with a Mawmaw, Brandi enjoyed listening to music and spending time with her family and friends. Her mother had a "green thumb" and liked to garden and arrange flowers, so Brandi spent some time helping out with that early on. After graduating high school, she attended the Mississippi University for Women where she obtained her degree in Elementary Education. Brandi worked as a teacher with special edication students for several years. Losing her father in a tragic accident in 1974, and her mother the same way in 2011, really took it's toll on Brandi and she was never quite the same. She is lovingly remembered as an overly generous woman with a huge heart. Her work with special needs children over the years exemplified the woman she was. In her spare time, Brandi enjoyed gardening, reading and fishing to relax. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded by her parents, Donnie and Rebecca Avery. Left to cherish her memories are her only son, Samuel Lott of Hattiesburg, and her life companion, James Hall of Petal. Brandi leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will all miss her dearly. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. She will be laid to rest with her parents at 1:00 PM Saturday afternoon, December 11, 2021 in the Crews United Methodist Church Cemetery in Sulligent, AL. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Lott family in their time of need, asking everyone to keep them in your thoughts and prayers over this trying time.
