Mr. Bradley Philip Rasmusson

August 22, 1955 — September 11, 2018

Mr. Bradley Philip "Brad" Rasmusson, 63 and a recent resident of Brandon, MS died September 11, 2018 of natural causes. Brad was born on August 22, 1955 in Portland, Oregon to Philip Floyd and Lorna Mellice Rasmusson. He was the eldest of four children. When Brad was 3 years old, the family moved to Renton, WA, where he remained until leaving for Rexburg, ID to attend Ricks College, now known as Brigham Young University-Idaho or BYU-I. As a child Brad enjoyed camping and fishing with his family almost every weekend, and had many cherished memories of time spent at his grandparent's house in Bickleton, WA. Oh, how he loved telling stories of his childhood adventures. After a couple of years at Ricks College, he returned to live in Washington and went to work for The Boeing Company in Auburn, where he worked for the next 38 plus years. He hired in as a N/C Mechanic, which he excelled at, as he was always mechanically inclined. He even received monetary rewards a couple of times for ideas he sold to Boeing during his career there. For the past 20 plus years, he was a Vibration III Analyst, which was something he took great pride in doing as he found the work very rewarding. Unfortunately, due to health problems concerning his heart and diabetes related issues, he had to retire early, something that weighed heavy on him as he was a dedicated employee who rarely missed worked for any reason. Brad had many talents. He was a good archer and had gotten his scuba certification. He enjoyed playing music, whether on his 12-string guitar, keyboard or Celtic music on his fiddle. For years he played at the Enumclaw Village Shoppe during the Christmas Day Parade. He also visited the local assisted living homes and played for the residents several times a year. Sharing his love for Celtic music was very important to him. He even overcame his shyness of singing in front of people. His hobbies were riding motorcycles, playing Sudoku, watching movies, family history work, and playing with the family pets. Critters was a term of endearment he used often for them. We had horses and alpaca until we moved to Auburn, and Brad found great pleasure in taking care of them. Teddy, our teacup poodle was his constant companion. He also caught the acting bug after doing his first play, and appeared in several plays over the last 15 years. He fancied himself quite the actor, and threw himself into his roles completely. Over the last year, he was pretty much wheelchair bound while trying to recover from a surgery which severely limited what he could do. To occupy his time, he had starting writing screen plays. Brad was an avid watcher of the Hallmark movies, and they inspired the writer in him. He will be fondly remembered, and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Brad was preceded by his parents, Philip Floyd and Lorna Mellice (Hensley) Rasmusson; his former wife, Shelly (Dickson) Rasmusson, and their son, Colin Rasmusson. Left to cherish his memories are: his wife of 20 years, Theresa "Three" Rasmusson; children: Aaron John Rasmusson of Seattle, WA, Jereme (Jennifer) Rasmusson of Lacey, WA, Athena Rasmusson of White Bear, MN, Matt Rasmusson of Enumclaw, WA, Barrett Rasmusson of Greenwater, WA, JT Miller of Kent, WA and Joseph Miller of Brandon, MS; grandchildren: Jacob, Jared, James and Jessica Rasmusson; Karissa, Ryan, Kailee and Adrianna Rasmusson; his siblings: Wade (Lauri) Rasmusson of Kirkland, WA, Janie (Jim) Palmer of Sedro-Woolley, WA and Andy (Kim) Rasmusson of Center Point, IA. A memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Brandon, Saturday morning, November 10th at 11am.
