Billy Joe Tims, known affectionately as "Kid" by his friends and loved ones, passed away on January 13, 2024, at the age of 47, in Hattiesburg, MS. Born on November 9, 1976, in Lumberton, Billy was a man whose presence was filled with unwavering dedication and affection for his family and friends. Having left formal education early, Billy never let that define his intelligence or his capacity for success. He was remarkably handy and possessed a natural intellect that enabled him to excel in his career. Billy's work ethic was evident through the various hard labor jobs he took on. He was passionate about vehicles, a trait that guided his career path from being a skilled mechanic to driving big rigs, most notably log trucks. His love for working on cars went beyond a hobby—it was his favorite way to spend time, blending his interests and livelihood seamlessly. Billy's selfless nature was embodied in the heart of gold he carried with him always. Described as the true definition of a family man, he was a provider not only for his own kin but for anyone in need. His generosity knew no bounds; he was the man who would give the shirt off his back without a second thought. Billy's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and care, which he extended to everyone around him. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered as the embodiment of all things good and selfless in this world. He is preceded by his father, Quinton Tims Sr. Left to cherish his memories is his beloved wife of 26 years, Dana Tims; his mother, Helen Tims; siblings, Edward (Tammy) Tims, Belinda Walters, Quinton (Eunice) Tims Jr., Michael (Sarah) Tims, and Mary (Sean) Wade; his cherished children, Emily (Gerrell) Keaton, Billy Joe Tims Jr., Isabella Tims; and his adored grandchild, Liam Keaton. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Tims family in their time of need and we ask you to keep them in your thoughts and prayers in the days to come.
