Betty Pascua Cacho Lacap, born on April 18, 1949, in the Philippines, left this world on February 18, 2026, surrounded by love and cherished memories. Betty was a remarkable woman whose life was woven together by her profound love for music and her unwavering devotion to her family.

A talented and heartfelt singer, Betty’s passion for performing blossomed in her early years in the Philippines, where she was a member of a band that serenaded military service members. That formative experience sparked a lifelong devotion to music that she carried with her when she made her home on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. There, she became a familiar and beloved presence at local karaoke events and community gatherings, where her beautiful voice and generous spirit brought joy to all who had the pleasure of hearing her sing. For Betty, music was more than a pastime—it was the very essence of who she was. Through song, she connected with others, celebrated life, and shared happiness wherever she went.

Betty was also a proud member and former officer of the Filipino American Association of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where she faithfully served her community. For many years, she had the distinct honor of opening ceremonies with stirring renditions of both the United States National Anthem and the Philippine National Anthem, a role she carried out with deep pride and reverence.

Her faith was central to her life. She was a devoted member of the Navy Base Seabee Memorial Chapel in Gulfport, Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Biloxi, and the Catholic Christian community of St. John the Evangelist Parish in downtown Gulfport. Betty joyfully shared her gift of music in the choirs of each parish, lifting her voice in praise and inspiring fellow parishioners with her unwavering faith and radiant spirit.

Betty's warmth extended far beyond her musical talents. She was a devoted mother to her children, GiGi Mondares, Sally Mondares, Clara "Little Beth" Williams, Jimmy Mondares, and Joshua LaCap. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, compassion, and the joy of music. Betty also cherished her role as a grandmother to her beloved grandchildren: John Ar Gie, Mika, Sherwin M. Doria, John Eric Lord M. Doria, Cheska Diaz, Nicole Mondares, Daniel Mondares, Skylar LaCap, Rylan LaCap, Emily Broadus, Ashley Broadus, Trace Williams, and Lacey Williams. Each grandchild was a source of pride and joy for her, and she enjoyed the special moments they shared together. Betty’s legacy continues through her great-great-grandchildren, Ryver Lane, Klarity Reign, and Shann Khalid Doria, who will carry forward the family traditions and stories that have been passed down.

Additional family members currently residing in the Philippines include her beloved nieces: Rutchel Cacho, Olga Cacho, Sonia Cacho, Arlyn Cacho, Rowena Cacho, Leah Cacho, Jean Cacho, and Alma Cacho; and her cherished nephews: Marlon Cacho and Raul Cacho.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Juliana P. Cacho, and her dear siblings, Adolfo P. Cacho, Lilia P. Cacho, and Oscar P. Cacho. She was also preceded in death by her cherished niece, Marilou Cacho, and her nephew, Chito Cacho.

Their memories remain forever woven into the fabric of her life. Each of them played a meaningful role in shaping the woman she became—the strength she carried, the love she shared, and the values she faithfully instilled in her family. Though they have gone before her, their legacy lives on through her, reflected in the character, compassion, and devotion she passed down to those she loved most.

As we celebrate the life of Betty Pascua Cacho Lacap, we remember her as a joyful spirit whose love for music brightened the lives of many. Her legacy of love, laughter, and song will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
