August 30, 1977 — March 24, 2024

Pass Christian

Bernel Joseph Pavolini, Jr., 46, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024, in Pass Christian, MS, where he had spent his life surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born August 30, 1977, in Gulfport, MS, to Bernel and Mary Lou Pavolini, Sr. He grew up in Pass Christian being a wide eyed and curious child, or a “hell on wheels” as some would say. He kept busy deconstructing and reconstructing anything he could lay his hands on. Bernel may have been a bit stubborn, but he just knew how things needed to be done and wasn’t afraid to tell you, especially when it came to cooking. After all he was the king of experimental cooking, creating amazing dishes like seafood dressing and chicken spaghetti. His love for the outdoors was evident in the countless hours he spent working on cars, restoring them to their former glory, and reveling in the excitement of the racetrack and dragstrip. Bernel was an accomplished pipefitter with many companies, later he transitioned into construction, where he specialized in fence work. Bernel's zest for life took him on many road trips and adventures, always ready for the next journey. He always dreamt of new ideas and ways to be an entrepreneur, often combining his love for cooking with each idea, a food truck or buying a smoker and taking his experimental cooking to new levels. You would always find him browsing Facebook Marketplace, searching for his next project or treasure. When he became "Papa," he embraced the role. He was a child at heart, always ready to play and explore with his grandbabies. His family was his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was quality time with his children, best friend, Jason, or engaging in playful banter with his mother, who shared his strong-willed nature and sharp wit. He met the love of his life 31 years ago at a party, and for him, it was love at first sight. His instinct was right, as the woman who captured his heart would become his partner in life for 28 beautiful years. Bernel will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded by his father, Bernel Pavolini, Sr.; paternal god father, Simmons Pavolini; paternal god mother, Lucenia Pavolini; maternal god mother, Anna Pujol; maternal god father, Alex Pujol; nephew, Trenton Havens; sister-in-law, Patti Havens.
