Bennie Ray Fiveash, passed away peacefully in the comforts of his home, on February 25, 2024, in Gulfport, MS, at the age of 72. Born January 9, 1952, in Poplarville, MS to LeRoy Fiveash and Inita Ladner. Bennie grew up in Saucier spending his early days playing football and going on many adventures in the woods. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, finding nothing but pure enjoyment in the outdoors. His hands were as skilled at assembling intricate puzzles as they were at reeling in a big catch. He loved watching his westerns, but nothing compares to his favorite movie, "Tremors.” You would not only catch him, but his family as well, quoting lines. In 1968, Bennie met the love of his life, his Peggy Sue, on a blind date that would lead to almost 55 years of unwavering partnership. A true love story that stood as an inspiration to all who knew them. He was the rock, the constant presence who could be counted on through thick and thin. His battle with cancer showcased his remarkable resilience and determination. Even in the face of adversity, Bennie cherished every moment with his loved ones till his very last breath. Known for his playful spirit, Bennie was often the instigator of fun and mischief. His sense of humor and quick wit brought smiles to many, and his stubborn and feisty nature only added to his charm. He was a man of strength and honor, embodying toughness and love in equal measure. To his grandchildren, he was "Papa," a figure as magical as Santa Claus, with a beard that seemed to hold stories of its own. His impact on his family was as profound as the footprints he left in the woods he so loved to explore, and he will be dearly missed. He is preceded by his father, LeRoy Fiveash, mother and stepfather, Inita and Russell Reid; his Granny; in-laws, Helen and Ezell Necaise; sister-in-law, Kathy Necaise. Bennie is survived by his wife, Peggy Sue; children, Renee (Tommy) Goff and Jericho Fiveash; grandchildren, Cassandra (Harrison) Couch, Jericho Fiveash Jr, Alyssa (Donavon) Hughes, Colton (Jessica) Robinson; great grandchildren, MaKinsley and OakLeigh Hughes; and five siblings, Neta (Johnny) Williams, Roy Fiveash, Ronnie (Margie) Reid, Cindy (Frank) Craig, and Keith Necaise.
