Beatrice Ladner

June 26, 1935 — June 30, 2023

Beatrice Ladner, 88, passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends on June 30, 2023 in Purvis , MS. She was born on June 26, 1935 in Stone County to the late Irene and Leonard Whitten. Beatrice celebrated her 88th birthday on June 26th amongst family and friends. She was a loving wife who cared for her husband, a faithful mother of five who loved unconditionally, and a caring grandmother and great grandmother to many are a few of the things that define her. Beatrice went by many names, Ms. B, Aunt B, BB, but the one she spent the most time fulfilling was Grandma. She enjoyed making memories and embracing experiences with her grandchildren no matter what the adventure might have been. Her home was an open door where she loved to cook and loved for people to sit down and eat. If she couldn't be found in her kitchen, she'd be outside smelling roses and picking daises in her home-grown flower beds. Among many other hobbies, dancing and gardening were her favorites. She loved to dance especially square dancing. She enjoyed traveling with her children and grandchildren and was always up for a good adventure. She was a member at Shiloh Baptist Church where she attended while still living in Hancock County. She loved the Lord and loved to sing old gospel hymns. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy in all her family that is full of life and love in all the hearts that she touched. Beatrice is preceded in death by her husband, Gaston Ladner; parents, Irene and Leonard Whitten; her son, Donald Ray Ladner; grandson, Reed Ladner; and two brothers James and Bobby Whitten. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Roger Ladner (Sharon), Billy Wayne Ladner (Kelly), Belinda Ladner (Tommy), and Henry Ladner; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren, one brother, Roy Whitten and numerous nieces and nephews. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Ladner Family and ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during these difficult times.
