Barbara Delle (Ramsey) Knight

October 18, 1952 — August 4, 2021

Lumberton, MS

Barbara Delle Knight, 68 of the Stump Texas area in Stone county, left this world on August 4, 2021 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Oh and it was not from Covid-19 either! She was born in Tucson, AZ on October 18, 1952, the daughter of Thomas and Adeilyn (Lovejoy) Ramsey. Barbara grew up in El Paso, TX where she graduated from Coronado High School. Instead of receiving the "traditional car" for her graduation, Barbara got a horse. She worked at El Paso Natural Gas Company for many years, barrel raced in her spare time and rode her horse right into the heart of her "Knight" in shining armor, Robert. While some didn't think it would last, they almost made 50 years. With this union they had two children, Robby and Mandi and then later adopted Chris. Barbara was the type who loved taking care of everybody. Her parents, her husband, his parents and all the kids around "the lake", it didn't matter! Not only her door, but her loving heart was always open. Barbara turned her passion into a profession over the past 18 years. She was getting paid to do what she loved, working with Greg Sullivan and "his girls" at several of his Personal Care Homes. Barbara touched hundreds of lives during this time. Even in death, with her gracious gift of herself, Barbara will continue to help other's as her legacy continues! She was a true "Busy Body", but in a good way now. She was an almost 5 foot tall bundle of energy who had to purchase most of her shoes in the children's department. Barbara never met a stranger and always made you the most important person in that moment. If you were lucky enough to have her "Knight" light shine on you, she filled you with more "Lovejoy" than most will ever know! Though her given name was Barbara, she was called many more in her life. Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother (in or out - law) Aunt, Grandma, friend and human! As much as she loved people, she loved animals more. She would "brake" for mailboxes at night because she didn't want to "hit that deer!" Her favorite past times were feeding her critters (wild or domestic), fishing (gossip or fins) and spending time with the grandkids. Oh, and eating out. Barbara would call and say "I am having a craving for....come meet me for lunch, my treat!" That's her and she will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded by her parents and her son, Robert Carlton Knight. Left to cherish her memories are: her loving husband, Robert E. Knight; their daughter Amanda J. Knight and son Christopher (Theresa Ann) Herrera; her brother Tom (Sally) Ramsey; Gracie, Candace, "Geli", along with ALL her grandkids and an infinite amount of people and critters. Now our phones will ring less and our smiles will be far fewer, and there will be no more pies for favors! Barbara's final wishes were to be cremated, which the family is honoring. A celebration of her life will be held in October around the Columbus Day Weekend. In lieu of any flowers, the family requests donations to a cause of your choice, or to a local animal shelter in her honor. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Knight family in their time of need. Please keep Robert and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers in this difficult time.
