Barbara Jeanne Coyne, 64 of McHenry, passed away at her home earlier this month. Barbara was the youngest of four children and only daughter of Warren & Therese (Helmer) O'Brien. Born May 17, 1955 in South Louisiana, Barbara grew up in and around Bell Chase. As the baby and only girl, you might imagine that she would be somewhat of a tomboy growing up, trying to keep up with three older brothers. Rambunctious was one of several words that could be used to describe her younger days, along with some, if not most of her older ones as well. She was a care-free and determined person that lived life as she wanted. As she grew older, she left the tomboy behind and was always dressed "to the t" as a lady. Despite the hurdles she faced in life, Barbara had a caring heart at her core. She enjoyed reading and trips to the casinos, with the IP at the top of her list. She will be forever remembered and sadly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded by her father, Warren O'Brien and her husband, Harry Coyne. She leaves behind her only child, her son Kristofer O'Brien of Lafitte, LA; one grandson, Drake O'Brien, also of Lafitte; her mother, Therese O'Brien of Marrero; her brothers, Patrick (Gail) O'Brien of San Diego, CA, Jimmy O'Brien of Citronelle, AL and Michael (Pamela) O'Brien of Lafitte, along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring. Trinity Funeral Services is honored to serve the Coyne family in their time of need, asking everying to keep them in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days.
